STEM
Our STEM programs inspire members to explore, create, and innovate through hands-on learning experiences led by our dedicated STEAM Coordinator and community partners in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. By encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving, members develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed in school, future careers, and an ever-changing world. Programs include:
DIY Stem
Members design and build creative projects using recycled and everyday household materials, encouraging innovation, problem-solving, sustainability, and hands-on engineering.
Girls Who Code
Open to all members, Girls Who Code works to close the gender gap in technology while introducing youth to the fundamentals of computer science. Members learn coding concepts such as variables, loops, inputs, and outputs through Scratch programming and interactive, project-based activities.
Spheros
Members explore coding and robotics through app-enabled Sphero robots, designing obstacle courses, solving challenges, and programming using visual block coding and JavaScript. Through interactive play, youth strengthen critical thinking, creativity, and computational skills.
STEAM
Our STEAM programming combines science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics through engaging hands-on projects that encourage creativity, innovation, collaboration, and real-world problem solving.
Mad Science
Members experience exciting science demonstrations and interactive experiments that bring scientific concepts to life while encouraging curiosity, discovery, and a lifelong love of learning.
Microscopic Exploration
Members use microscopes to investigate the hidden details of plants, insects, and everyday objects, developing observation skills while discovering the fascinating world beyond what can be seen with the naked eye.
